The Calvary Aid Foundation has been set up with the sole aim of encouraging commercial sex workers to abandon their trade for a new life in Christ.
The project was officially launched in November 2003 with 20 ladies in a project home where they were adopted to undergo a rehabilitation program and equiped with employable skills like hair dressing, tie and dye batic, fashion designing and catering. The inmates are provided with food, clothing and monthly allowances for their upkeep, CAF provides financial assistance to the inmates upon succesful completion of their rehabilitation programme to help them establish their own businesses.
This initaiative, we believe, will not only help to cut down the spread of HIV/AIDS but most importantly, will bring these desperate young ladies to find lasting peace in Christ.
With several young ladies happily reintegrated into society in a newly found light, many more are knocking on our doors, and resources are strained. Our appeal goes to all to support this good work in any way that is possible to save one more for Jesus.
